Biography
Oskar Evers is a Dutch expressionist painter, born in Poland. His work reflects a lifelong exploration of identity and connection. Through vivid dreamscapes—where emotion, memory and symbolism converge—he invites the viewer into his inner world. Intuitive brushwork, unmixed colours and recurring motifs such as plants and solitary figures are key elements in his visual language.

A self-taught artist, Evers began painting during a difficult period in his life, marked by burnout and his father’s sudden illness. Painting became a way to reconnect with himself and break free from the constraints he felt trapped in. Influenced by artists such as Van Gogh, Caspar David Friedrich and Matthew Wong, he seeks to translate intense emotional states into colour and landscape.

His work often moves between abstraction and figuration, inviting viewers to bring their own meaning to each piece. Rather than offering conclusions, his paintings create space for introspection. In an age of polarisation and rising mental strain, Evers’ work contributes to a broader conversation around emotion, identity and human connection.

In 2024, Evers took part in the annual exhibition of the New English Art Club (NEAC) in London. His work will also be on view later this year at the Erik Neimeijer Gallery in Nijverdal, the Netherlands.
